Cremet  

Officially launched in 2013, Cremet is the most recent addition to our range of cheeses. An innovative, soft, mould ripened goats’ cheese enriched with cows’ cream, there is nothing else like it produced in the UK. It has a subtle fresh, creamy flavour and mousse like texture when young deepening to a full, rich flavour with earthy undertones when mature.

Cremet has recently won the Supreme Champion product at the Taste of the West Awards 2017.

Cremet 

Tasting notes

Cremet is a soft, mould ripened cheese made from pasteurised goats’ milk enriched with cows’ cream. Subtle and delicate when young, with a fresh, creamy flavour and mousse like texture, it develops into a rich, earthy cheese with a fuller flavour as it matures.

Cheese making

To start the process cows’ cream is added to pasteurised goats’ milk and mixed thoroughly. Once a starter has been added, the cheese is hand cut and the curd is hand ladled into moulds and turned four times in the first five hours after moulding. The next morning, the cheeses are taken out of their moulds onto draining racks. After twenty four hours draining, they are brined on racks then left to allow their white coat to grow. Once the coat is fully grown, they are wrapped in breathable paper and matured to four weeks of age.

Shelf Life

A full size cheese will have a maximum shelf life of 12 days from the date of dispatch.  Please specify if there is a particular date on which you want to eat the cheese or call if you have any questions.
