Sharpham Summer Red 2013

Tasting notes

Style: - Fruity young red

Colour: - Light purple/red

Nose: - Soft ripe summer fruit

Palate: - Surprisingly rich with strawberry fruit and soft tannins. A small amount of residual sugar remains to soften the palette.

Aging:- Drink now or allow to develop for a couple of years following the vintage.

Wine making

The red grapes were picked during the latter part of October.  They were brought into the winery crushed and de-stemmed before being put into a specialist tank to partially ferment on their skins.  After a few days the grapes are pressed to extract the wine, before being transferred into stainless steel tanks to finish the fermentation.

Food notes

Delicious with ‘finger’ and picnic style foods, serve chilled.
