Madeleine Angevine

This early harvested wine possesses a delightful spritz and vibrant fruit characters. A hint of risidual sugar allows for early drinking with or without food and is ideal for parties. One of just a handful of English nouveau alternatives. "This Year's New Release" captures the freshest of flavours from our 2009 harvest.

This is a selection of 6 Bottles of Sharpham wines. The half case includes one bottle each of the Estate Selection 2008, Dart Valley Reserve 2008, Sharpham Rosé 2007 and Sharpham Red 2007 and 2 bottles of the Barrel Fermented 2007.  

Grape Varieties - Madeleine Angevine, Phoenix & Bacchus

This off-dry and ever popular wine has a light, fresh character achieved by carefully blending the different grape varieties and partially ageing in American oak. Lovely fruit aromas with supple delicate flavours and a just off-dry style resulting in a wine ideal for drinking with or without food.

INTERNATIONAL WINE CHALLENGE 2009 - SILVER MEDAL 

Aging Potential: this wine style makes ideal early drinking. Ages well for up to 2 years.

Food Notes: It is perfect for drinking without food, however, it  goes particularly well

Grape Variety - 100% Madeleine Angevine

This fine dry style exhibits the best qualities of English wine. An elegant wine characterised by its pale lemon colour and long refreshing finish. The taste of fresh citrus fruits gives a youthful fresh sensation with good balance and length.

Aging Potential: this wine style makes ideal early drinking. Ages well for up to 2 years.

Food Notes: It is a great aperitif wine and an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood.

Grape Variety - 100% Madeleine Angevine

This very successful oaked style wine has been made at Sharpham since 1992 and is one of the few English wines to be fermented in new oak barriques. Reflecting the excellent vineyard conditions in 2006 the aromas and flavours are complex and balanced, giving a wine that has great finesse. We have limited stocks of this premium white wine.

McNIE TROPHY 2009 FOR BEST OAKED WHITE WINE IN UK 

Aging Potential: this wine will age well for up to five years.

Food Notes: great with spicy foods and oriental style dishes. It is a fantastic match for lightly char-grilled white

Grape variety: 100% Dornfelder

A refreshing Rose produced from the Dornfelder variety. Cold maceration for twenty four hours on the skins gives a rich, bright ruby colour together with ripe, summer fruit flavours. This rare wine is soft and fruity, it makes perfect summer drinking.

Aging Potential: ages well for up to 3 years.

Food Notes: a beautiful accompaniment to cold meats such as salami and ham and sweeter meats such as pork and pates. Great, also, with white fish.

Dornfelder and Rondo

Three days cold maceration followed by fermentation on the skins has resulted in a beautifully deep, garnet coloured wine. It is aged in oak barrels giving a firm structure which is balanced by vibrant, rich, red fruit flavours and a wonderful cherry nose.

Aging Potential: ages well for up to four years.

Food Notes: fantastic with Sharpham cheese, particularly the Sharpham Rustic. A brilliant accompaniment Italian food and to light red meats and casseroles. Try it with duck in a black cherry sauce.

Grape Varieties - 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot

This highly acclaimed dry red is made from grapes grown at Beenleigh Manor Vineyard and vinified at Sharpham. These classic varieties give wine with a firm structure and the ability to age beautifully.

Dornfelder & Rondo

Three days cold maceration followed by fermentation on the skins has resulted in a beautifully deep, garnet coloured wine. It has been aged in new oak barrels, which contributes to its firm structure. It has lovely, rich, black fruit flavours and a wonderful cherry nose.

This particular vintage has been aged in our cellar for two years creating a more mature wine with a firmer structure.

Bacchus

BACCHUS 2008 – Grape Variety: 100% Bacchus

This wine is produced from a slow cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It is a medium  style, well balanced with elegant tropical fruit aromas. The palate is fresh and fruity with a refreshing crisp finish. Bacchus 2008 is best served well chilled either on it’s own or with food.

Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc

A classic and stylish sparkling wine made in the traditional method.  A refreshingly crisp initial palate followed by light biscuity notes and a long dry finish - delicious!
